2019 – Shell-negative cast-2
Guscio (calco negativo)
Shell (negative cast)
In botany the shell is the part that protects the fruit or seed of some plants.
In engineering it is a structural element having two dimensions (length and width) prevailing with respect to the third (the thickness).
In zoology it is an external structure that protects the body of the animal.
This is the shell of a (negative) sculpture, a cast that can allow it to reproduce in other materials. It is an invisible passage to most people, it’s a footprint, it’s a void that tells of the way things are born, of how each form contains another form.
